How do I GIVE a Gift of Hope online?
Step 1: Select a gift from the available gifts. Once inside the gift detail page (by clicking Read More), click the Add to Cart button.
Step 2: PayPal will securely process your payment on behalf of Gifts of Hope and the Metropolitan DC Synod of the ELCA. You may pay using a debit card, credit card, or your own PayPal account if you have one.
Step 3: Receive an e-mail acknowledgement thanking you for your fully tax-deductible gift. This acknowledgement may be used for your tax records.
Step 4: Receive card(s) in the mail which may be given to your gift recipient. An insert that explains the gift(s) will be included in the card. If you prefer, you may print the current Christmas Ornament Card yourself at home. Just let us know not to send a card.
Step 5: GoH will disburse your donation to the designated agencies on behalf of your gift recipient.
May I make a donation to Gifts of Hope without selecting a gift?
You have two choices: Make an online donation or write a check. Please indicate “GoH donation” on the memo line. Checks should be mailed to:

How will gifts made to Gifts of Hope be distributed?
All donations will be distributed to the participating agencies and institutions.
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Yes. With all donations you will receive an acknowledgement from Gifts of Hope stating that your donation is fully tax-deductible.
How much of the Gifts of Hope contributions will go to the agencies and institutions?
100% of all gifts received through Gifts of Hope via the mail or at the congregations during Advent go directly to the participating organizations. The administrative costs of Gifts of Hope are underwritten by the agencies and institutions. Thrivent Financial and area ELCA congregations underwrite the expenses for printing the cards, envelopes, and annual catalog. For online donations, PayPal has a 2.2% plus 30 cents processing fee.
